The Log+Key Terminal

Permanently installed right where your keys hang: the wall terminal turns key handovers into a matter of seconds — enter your PIN, scan the NFC tag, done.

In daily use

Key handovers, right where they happen.

Care station, property management, control centre or workshop: keys are handed over where they hang. With the terminal, the documentation happens exactly there — the incoming shift sees at a glance which keys are outstanding and who had them last.

And if the smartphone is closer at hand while on the move: terminal, smartphone and desktop work in parallel on the same data.

What is the terminal?

A device at the key rack — always ready

The Log+Key Terminal is a permanently mounted tablet terminal for the place where your keys are stored. It is installed once and is then available around the clock — for every checkout, every return and every quick look-up, without anyone reaching for their own device.

For this, the terminal runs its own purpose-built interface: reduced to the essentials and made for busy environments — you scan several NFC tags in one go. In parallel, Log+Key keeps running as usual on your smartphone and in the browser.

Built for continuous operation

What the terminal does

  • Sign in with a PIN — or your own NFC tag.

Staff sign in with their PIN, or even faster with their personal NFC tag. Whether an additional PIN is required is up to you to configure.

  • NFC scanning at the key rack.

Hold the NFC tag briefly against the terminal — the checkout or return is documented, with timestamp and name.

  • Register large volumes quickly.

Initial inventory or new additions: at the terminal you register many keys in one go.

  • Always on, always up to date.

Installed once, the terminal runs permanently — Log+Key applies updates automatically.

A strong partnership

Industrial-grade hardware by gekartel

For the terminal we deliberately rely on industrial hardware from our partner gekartel — instead of consumer tablets, which quickly reach their limits in continuous operation. The components are built for 24/7 use, from the battery to the display, and the devices can be administered remotely: we handle updates and maintenance without anyone needing to be on site.

Just as important is what industrial devices leave out — and that's exactly what builds trust: no pre-installed consumer apps, no unannounced system updates destabilising the application.

You can read how the partnership came about in our blog article “The road to the perfect hardware partner” — and from gekartel's perspective in the article “Digitale Schlüsselverwaltung” (German) in their magazine.

Frequently asked questions

Answers about the terminal

  • Do I need a terminal at all?

No. Log+Key runs entirely in the browser — on any smartphone, tablet or desktop. The terminal pays off where many handovers happen in one central place: at the key rack, in the control centre, at reception. Many teams combine both.

  • What does the Log+Key Terminal cost?

€49 per month per terminal. The rental covers the hardware and the software module running on it — shipping included, cancellable monthly. Run your configuration through the price calculator.

  • How is the terminal installed?

The terminal is installed once at the place where your keys are stored and is permanently available from then on. We handle updates and maintenance remotely — and should a device ever cause trouble, we’ll immediately provide a spare unit.

  • Can terminal, smartphone and desktop be used in parallel?

Yes — all three routes are available in parallel and work on the same data. If one device fails, key handovers continue via the others.

  • Who makes the terminal hardware?

The hardware comes from our partner gekartel AG — professional terminals built for continuous operation. You can read how the partnership came about in the blog article “The road to the perfect hardware partner”.
