Manage keys with ease
Key management for home emergency call services
Home emergency call runs around the clock — Log+Key shows instantly where the flat key is during a call-out and documents every handover automatically. Digital instead of paper and Excel.
Typical challenges
What goes wrong with keys in day-to-day home emergency call work
- A call-out at three in the morning: dispatch needs to know within seconds who last had the client's flat key.
- Shift change in the 24/7 emergency service: the key stays with a colleague who has already clocked off.
- Dispatch and key list maintained twice: the emergency call centre knows the call-out, but not where the key is.
- Inspections by payers or internal audits: key documentation must be available in an audit-proof way.
- GDPR obligations around keys to private homes — paper notes and Excel become a real weak point.

Key management in home emergency call
During a call-out, only one question matters: where is the key?
Answers within seconds during a call-out
When an emergency call comes in, there is no time to search. In Log+Key, dispatch sees immediately whether the flat key is hanging in the key store or who last took it out — including a timestamp. The route to the client's front door no longer starts at the key rack, but on the screen.
Shift handovers in 24/7 operation
Home emergency call knows no closing time — the key changes hands between responsible staff several times a day. With Log+Key, the incoming shift sees at a glance which keys are outstanding. No phone call to the colleague who has clocked off — the handover is documented in the system as soon as the key is scanned.
UMO integration: dispatch and key status in one system
Anyone using UMO for home emergency call dispatch doesn't want to maintain two systems in parallel. Log+Key provides the ready-made connection — key status flows directly into UMO and is available to dispatch without switching systems. You can find an overview of all integrations on the integrations page.
Client keys with a private address — GDPR-compliant
Keys to private homes are especially sensitive. Log+Key hosts exclusively in Germany, staff sign in via PIN (no password that ends up on a sticky note), and access to personal data fields can be restricted by role. A DPA (data processing agreement) template is ready to use. More on the topic of security.
Audit-proof history
Every key checkout and return is recorded with a timestamp, staff name and (on request) a signature. The history cannot be altered and can be exported as a report at any time — valuable for inspections by payers, clients or internal audits.
Also running an outpatient care service?
Many providers operate an outpatient care service alongside home emergency call — with its own requirements around routes, shift handovers and MDK documentation. We have a dedicated page for that: key management for outpatient care.
More background: A digital key management system is often a prerequisite for seamless handovers in emergency services — we've put together a definition and a set of selection criteria. If you're wondering whether a key safe on its own is enough, or whether an Excel key log will hold up over the long term — we've compared the most important points. You can find a complete overview of features and hardware on our software solution for digital key management.
Forgotten your password?
Simple, fast sign-in with a PIN.
Log+Key stands for simplicity, and we guarantee it in our sign-in process too. Fast sign-in without usernames or complicated passwords saves time and effort.
Key dates in the calendar
Schedule a return date.
A scheduled return deadline makes for an organised key handover, because agreed deadlines are a helpful planning tool for both the person taking the key and the person handing it over.
An autograph, please!
Confirm with a signature.
Log+Key doesn't leave the question of accountability unanswered. With the signature feature, a key can be handed over responsibly and traceably.
More than keys
Your inventory works like a key too.
Tools, devices, vehicles, first-aid kits: anything your team borrows and returns, Log+Key manages just like a key — with an NFC tag, a complete history and stocktaking by scan. The key rack and the tool store share one system, one history and one login.

Frequently asked questions
Answers for your industry
-
Does Log+Key work with UMO?
Yes. Log+Key provides a ready-made UMO connection: key status flows directly into dispatch, without having to maintain two systems in parallel. All integrations at a glance.
-
We already have a key safe — can it be combined?
Yes, that is actually a very strong combination. Via the Wiegand interface we connect, for example, SimonsVoss locking systems: safe openings land automatically in the Log+Key history. The existing safe is thus supplemented with a complete documentation layer.
-
What about data protection? We are subject to GDPR.
Hosting is exclusively in Germany, a data processing agreement template is available, and we are happy to provide specific information on the technical implementation. More on the topic of security.
-
What happens if the smartphone fails?
Three routes are available in parallel: smartphone, wall terminal with its own PIN login, or desktop browser. One of the three is always running — even on the night shift you are never dependent on a single device.
-
Can we test Log+Key before deciding?
Yes. We set up a test account with around 50 NFC tags, you try the system for 2–3 weeks with a small team, then you decide. Request test access.
