More than keys
Log+Key as an inventory system
Tools, devices, vehicles, first-aid kits: anything that gets borrowed and returned, Log+Key manages like a key — with an NFC tag, a complete history and stocktaking by scan.
One system for everything
Objects, not just keys
In Log+Key, the key is simply the most common case. Every object gets an NFC tag and shows up in the same overview: the company vehicle next to the flat key, the tool case next to the first-aid kit. Whoever takes something out or brings it back scans briefly — and the history is complete.
That doesn’t just end the key chaos, it also ends the paperwork around devices and material: you can see at any time what is available, what is checked out and who has it.
One tag for every object
NFC tags in many form factors
The NFC tag is the bridge between the physical object and its digital twin in Log+Key. So it fits onto anything, it comes in many form factors:
Once attached, a quick smartphone scan is all it takes: identify the object, start processes and document the status of the physical object alongside its digital twin.

What Log+Key does for your inventory
-
Stocktaking by NFC scan.
Walk the stock and scan tag by tag — with reports and statistics instead of a paper tally sheet.
-
Your own object types.
Tool, device, vehicle, key — define types and keep your stock cleanly separated.
-
Custom additional fields.
Serial number, inspection date, accessories: store any fields you like per object.
-
Photo history.
Document condition and trace changes visually — for example on return.
-
Location management.
Assign objects to locations and limit user access to selected locations.
-
Borrowing with accountability.
Checkout and return with timestamp, name, return date and an optional signature.
In the field
From vehicle keys to test equipment.
At a car dealership, vehicle keys hang on the rack with a DMS reference while the vehicles themselves sit in the yard — Log+Key captures both, including location documentation on return. In outpatient care, care aids and devices circulate through the team alongside client keys. And in facility management it’s ladders, measuring devices and machines.
The same principle applies everywhere: attach an NFC tag, scan, done — accountability is documented without anyone keeping a list.
Frequently asked questions
Answers on inventory management
-
Can Log+Key manage objects other than keys?
Yes — that is the core of the system. Every object gets an NFC tag: tool case, measuring device, company vehicle, first-aid kit. Checkouts and returns are documented just as seamlessly as with keys, and custom object types keep the stock cleanly separated.
-
How does stocktaking work?
By NFC scan: you walk the stock and simply scan tag by tag with your smartphone. Log+Key then shows reports and statistics: what is in stock, what is checked out, what is missing.
-
What does inventory management with Log+Key cost?
Plans are based on the total number of objects under management — a tool case counts just like a key. Up to 10 objects you start free, permanently; beyond that you pick a plan by stock size in the price calculator.
-
Can keys and inventory live in the same account?
Yes. In Log+Key, keys are an object type like any other — you manage the key rack and the tool store in one system, with one history and one login.
-
Does it work on the move, e.g. at a vehicle?
Yes. Log+Key runs in the browser on any smartphone — the NFC scan happens right at the object, whether it’s a vehicle in the yard or an equipment case in the company car. More on the Log+Key app page.
